Well another busy month has passed us by and the nights are beginning to draw in even earlier. We have still enjoyed some days out in the garden despite October knocking on our door as the weather has been warm. We have been entertained by the Deal Landmark singers, Geoff Stephens and his guitar music, Tom Abrahams wonderful singing, Jon Beetham and Glenda who are old favourites and The Singing Sweetheart Kelly. We are trialling evening entertainment in the form of Simon Lee. Residents enjoy some drinks and music before retiring to bed. We joined the village in celebrating the Harvest Festival at the village hall where we enjoyed tea, stalls and a raffle. Thank you to all who organised this and welcomed us all so warmly. Tony's tours took us to Pegwell Bay, Minis Bay, Sandwich Quays and Deal, a real tour of the coastline. Tony escorted some of the ladies to Canterbury for coffee and a catch up with friends. Stephanie from the kitchen team is back from Peru and gave a fascinating talk of her holiday experiences, amazingly one of our residents had lived in Peru and aided Stephanie on her reminiscing. We had activities relating to Harvest festival helping each other to remember how we celebrated it over the years. ‘Try it Tuesday’ brought us delicacies from Jamaica, Thailand and Spain all very different and tasty. On 'Fizzy Friday' we tried drinks with exotic fruit flavours that tickled the taste buds and followed the themes of our ’Try it Tuesday'. After all that eating and drinking Pilates Debbie soon had us back in shape with her exercise class.
