Well the leaves are turning, the clocks have gone back and it’s only six weeks to Christmas. We are as busy as always. The activities team have been keeping our residents on their toes! In the musical department we have had the delights of the Singing Sweetheart, Geoff Stephens, Jon Beetham, Trevor and his guitar and the Simon Lee’s Music workshop. They were all very enjoyable and participating is always great fun. There was a church service and Holy Communion was administered. Several of the residents went to the local primary school to celebrate Harvest Festival, that was followed by tea and cake. Tony’s trips saw us off to Nickle Farm. Our old favourite Debbie put us through a rigorous exercise regime to keep us moving after all the tea and cake. Our ‘Try it Tuesday’ saw the culinary delights of the catering staff serving up a Turkish delight and an oriental Sushi which was delicious. ‘Fizzy Friday’ served up Cream Soda, Fizzy orange and Mango, Ginger Beer and Dandelion and Burdock, all went down very well. The catering team put on a wonderful Halloween supper and the conservatory was decorated accordingly with items made by residents, a great time was had by all.
