Well Christmas has been and gone. We had a busy time leading up to the big day. We decorated the tree and put the decorations that we made up around the Home. We had the Home Christmas party on the 9th when family, friends and staff enjoyed a wonderful buffet and champagne with musical entertainment. A good time was had by all. We have been entertained by Geoff Stephens, Thomas Abraham’s and Jan Beetham always our favourites. ‘Taste it Tuesday’ saw us going to Greece, Asia and British Christmas Food. Our Fizzy Fridays/Cream Teas always a delight with different cocktails and wonderful scones, cream and jam, just as well we have Debbie keeping us on our toes with Palates. We have baked, painted, quizzed, played games, had Arts and crafts, played bingo, trips out with Tony to the coast and had pamper afternoons. For those of us that need one-to-one we have had hand massages, manicures, arts and craft and a visit by the tuck shop and library. Christmas Day morning we had sherry and mince pies and a visit by Santa’s Little Helpers who handed out Christmas presents. Christmas Dinner was cooked by Emily and all the catering staff team worked very hard to make it a success and very good it was too. We were joined by family members for lunch and the staff. Most of us were in bed seeing in the New Year but New Year’s Day we had a special lunch of roast lamb and Prosecco.

During the month we had Tom, Jon and Geoff back in to give us musical delight. ‘Taste it Tuesday’ saw food from Egypt, Germany, Algeria, India and Korea, very apt as the Winter Olympics will be coming from Pyeongchang in South Korea. We had a couple of film afternoons we watched Pride and Prejudice, The Queen, Laurel and Hardy an
