Well autumn is upon us and the autumnal feel is in the air. September has been another busy month. We have been entertained by Glenda, always a favourite and Jo Beetham, Tom Abraham’s and Geoff Stephens. Tony has taken us on trips out to Minis Bay, St Margaret’s Bay, Capel-le-Ferne and the coffee shop at Bridge.

We enjoyed the McMillan coffee morning to raise money for ‘The McMillan Nurses’ and people with Cancer. Patricia has kept us busy baking, bingo, arts and crafts, quizzes, the tovertafel table game, remembering quizzes, manicures and our weekly signing and dance group. We had the Harvest Festival service and Tony kept our waist lines in check with his exercise classes.

We have had such a great summer that we have played giant Naughts and Crosses, Snakes and Ladders and Boules in the garden. September film afternoon was showing Pride and Prejudice, Guys and Dolls, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. The kitchen staff have not disappointed us with our ‘Taste it Tuesday’. We have tasted the delights of Thailand with a green and red Thai curries with noodles. Our trip to India had us eating chicken jalfrezi, pilau rice, naan bread, mango chutney, onion bhajis, samosas and cobra beer. Our North African Taste was of Algeria. We had couscous with minced lamb, chunky vegetable sauce chickpeas and flat bread.
