Well what a full month April has been and the weather hasn’t been too bad either. We started with an ‘April Fools Day’ quiz. April fools day has been popular for hundreds of years when neighbours used to play pranks on each other but there is conflicting evidence as to why. St George’s Day we had a quiz about St George and other famous George’s and as it fell at the same time as Taste it Tuesday we had traditional English High Tea to celebrate. Our other Tuesday Tastes took us to Japan, we tried sushi and Dusk. India, with a choice of Korma, chicken Tikka or Madras, this was accompanied with rice, poppadoms and naan bread. We had Algerian couscous, meatballs, chickpeas with spicy tomato sauce and salad. Easter was late this year and the weather was amazing. We all had hot cross buns and Easter Eggs and made Easter Bonnets in our craft session with a competition forBest Bonnet.

Some of us attended the ‘Afternoon Club’ at Littlebourne Village Hall, it’s lovely to get out and see new faces and make new friends over tea and cake. We have been busy with Zoe our gardener at the ‘Gardening Club’ which we hold once a week. There is lots to do in the greenhouse and in our raised bed. Our musical entertainment saw the return of familiar favourites. Jon Beetham, Glenda, Tom Abraham’s, Mandy Reynolds, Geoff Stephens and Jasmines Music rendition of Dreamboats and Petticoats, which was wonderful to sing along to. We enjoyed our cinema club with a wide variety of films including, the Big Country, The Quartet, The King and I, The Way We Were to name but a few out if the thirteen we have seen. All the more enjoyable with popcorn. Tony’s tours saw us visit Pegwell Bay, Westgate-on-Sea, Minnis Bay and the Vineyard at Staple all very enjoyable.

Our usual Fizzy Friday had us sampling Sparkling Apple, Fizzy Stra
