Well spring is definitely here. I love this time of year with everything bursting forth in the garden and all the young animals being born. We have managed to fit in no less than five gardening sessions with Zoe. We have produced lots of plants in the green house, some have already been planted out but there is still lots to do. We had the church service, which celebrated the spring season.

We had our residents meeting where we discussed concerns that we might have and also activities we might like to do and food and items we would like to see on the menu. We have tasted the culinary delights of Canada, Cuba, Vietnam and Indonesia on our ‘Taste it Tuesday’. Fizzy Friday gave us fizzy berry and mango, coke with rum lime and sugar and sparking orange, apple and cloudy lemonade. Tony’s tours took us off to The Turner Gallery in Margate, Preston Garden Centre coffee shop, Tadpole Tea Room in Frog Lane Canterbury, no I didn’t make it up and lastly Gibson’s Farm Shop at Wingham. We have been musically entertained by, Jasmine’s Jazz and Swing, Tom Abraham’s, Jon Beetham, Geoff Stephens and Chris Field, all very enjoyable.

Some of us ventured up to the village hall for afternoon tea. This is a very enjoyable time, as we get to meet people who live in the village and it’s a change to the home environment. The celluloid afternoons saw the likes of Norman Wisdom, Michael Palin, Marilyn Monro, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinartra, Doris Day and Rock Hudson in films that must be 50 years plus old, but enjoyed by all who joined in the cinema club. We have had our usual arts and crafts, manicures, quizzes, bingo, baking, library, exercise class, yoga, guessing box, singing, dancing, board games and scrabble. After all that we just managed to fit in an afternoon nap as well.
