WEEK 11 BLOG
This week saw a return to chilly mornings and April showers. On the days that it was warm enough residents enjoyed the garden. The gardening club is in full swing and we shall soon see the fruits of their potting and planting.
Taste It Tuesday we focussed this week on French culture and cuisine. Tasting Galettes Bretonne,( buckwheat savoury crepes) , Quiche Lorraine and a selection of cheeses. We discussed French history and some of it’s more famous Kings and heritage. Residents discussed the works of Victor Hugo and the popular stage musical and film, Les Miserables.
Residents joined in a variety of activities throughout the week including a quiz, puzzles, jigsaws, scrabble and our weekly bingo afternoon.
On Saturday the 13th residents watched a much scaled down Trooping The Colour. This was carried out at at Windsor Castle this year due to the lockdown situation. We all then discussed previous years memories and some residents recalled witnessing the event first hand.
Everyone helped to celebrate two residents birthday with cake and singing.
